Freestyle, Wave and Center-Stance Windfoil Board

Slingshot Freestyle V2 Windfoil Board

A compact carbon windfoil board built for freestyle tricks, carving swell and controlled wave riding.

The Slingshot Freestyle V2 is a dedicated windfoil freestyle board for riders who want direct rail control, compact dimensions and multiple stance options. Its thick skimboard-inspired outline fits substantial volume into a short platform, while tail and rail cutouts help the board release onto foil. Extended foil tracks, a windsurf mast track and both centered and outboard footstrap positions let riders tune the board for freestyle, waves or fast reaching.

• 87L and 115L
• Freestyle Windfoil
• Wave and Swell Riding
• Biax Carbon Layup
• Extended Foil Tracks
• Three- or Four-Strap Setup
• Full EVA Deck Pad

Foil-only design: The Freestyle V2 uses extended twin foil tracks for a plate-mounted hydrofoil. It is not designed for conventional fin windsurfing.

Why Youll Love It

Compact Freestyle Shape

The short, thick outline minimizes swing length while retaining the flotation needed for uphauling, schlogging and accelerating onto foil.

Control Over Both Rails

Centered strap positions give riders balanced leverage over both rails for switch-stance tricks, carving swell and wave riding.

Fast Foil Installation

Extended tracks continue through the back of the tail, allowing compatible foil hardware to slide into the tracks without removing each bolt from the mast plate.

Freestyle or Fast Reaching

Use the inboard three-strap arrangement for maneuvers and waves, or select the outboard four-strap positions for added leverage and efficient upwind and downwind angles.

Technical Features

Extended Foil Tracks

The tracks extend through the tail for easier foil installation, removal and mast-position adjustment.

Inset Bottom Carry Handle

A recessed handle beneath the board makes it easier to carry the board and attached foil while keeping the other hand available for the windsurf rig.

Three-Strap Configuration

Inboard insert positions create a centered stance for switch-stance tricks, carving, wave riding and equal control over both rails.

Four-Strap Configuration

Outboard inserts provide additional leverage for powered reaching, efficient upwind angles and greater control at speed.

Tail and Rail Cutouts

Strategic cutouts reduce wetted surface and encourage earlier release when pumping the board onto foil.

Full Cushy EVA Deck Pad

EVA traction covers the entire working area at the tail so riders can move between strapless, inboard and outboard positions with consistent grip.

Biax Carbon Layup

An ultra-light EPS core is wrapped in high-density PVC foam and covered on the deck and bottom with Biax Carbon for stiffness and responsive foil feedback.

Reinforced Stringer System

A central PVC Carbon stringer works with glass-wrapped T-stringers to create I-beam-style longitudinal reinforcement through the board.

Complete Board Dimensions

Published weights have a manufacturer variance of approximately 5%. Slingshot does not publish size-specific sail ranges for the Freestyle V2.

Size Guide

87L

Best for lighter or expert windfoilers who prioritize minimum swing weight, freestyle rotation, wave riding and control in stronger wind. The lower volume requires confident uphauling and waterstarting skills.

115L

Best for medium-to-larger riders or anyone wanting additional flotation for uphauling, variable wind and larger foil setups while retaining a compact freestyle-oriented shape.

Choose the 87L for the most compact and reactive freestyle platform. Choose the 115L when flotation, light-wind support and easier non-foiling balance are higher priorities. Slingshot does not provide an official rider-weight chart.

Stance Setup Guide

Foil and Rig Compatibility

Top-Plate Foil Mounting

The twin tracks accept a compatible hydrofoil mast with a four-bolt top plate. Confirm track-nut and bolt requirements with the foil manufacturer.

Adjustable Windsurf Mast Track

The windsurf mast track allows the rig position to be balanced against the foil position, rider stance and selected sail.

Recommended Foil Style

Maneuver-oriented freeride, freestyle and wave foils complement the boards compact outline and centered stance better than dedicated race setups.

Recommended Rig Style

Compact, maneuverable camberless sails are the natural match for freestyle and wave use. Final sail size depends on rider weight, foil area and conditions.

Who Is the Freestyle V2 For?

Freestyle Windfoilers

Designed for experienced riders progressing into jumps, rotations, switch-stance tricks and other maneuver-focused windfoil riding.

Wave and Swell Riders

The centered stance and compact shape provide balanced rail control for carving swell and riding waves with a windsurf sail.

Performance Freeriders

Riders can use the four-strap setup when they want more leverage, speed and efficient upwind or downwind angles.

Consider Another Board If

You are learning basic windsurfing, need a conventional fin box or want a dedicated race and light-wind foil board for large cambered sails.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Freestyle V2 a beginner windfoil board?

It is primarily intended for intermediate and advanced windfoilers. The 115L offers more support, but the compact shape remains performance-oriented.

Can it be used for conventional windsurfing?

No. It has a windsurf mast track but uses foil tracks rather than a conventional windsurf fin box.

Does it include a hydrofoil?

No. A compatible plate-mounted foil must be purchased separately.

Are footstraps included?

Slingshots official package listing specifies the board only. Footstraps should be purchased separately for the desired three- or four-strap configuration.

Is foil-track hardware included?

No. Slingshot specifically states that foil-track mounting hardware is not included.

Why do the foil tracks exit through the tail?

The open-ended tracks make it easier to slide compatible track nuts and foil hardware into position during foil installation and removal.
