Prolimit Vapor Steamer 6/4mm Hooded Chest Zip Wetsuit | Men’s Winter Steamer

The Vapor is the top of Prolimit’s 2027 line, and the 6/4 hooded is the warmest suit they build. Fixed hood, 6mm through the core and 4mm in the arms and legs this is the one for January sessions at Wallasey when the wind is offshore and the water is single figures.

What makes the Vapor different?

• Zodiac 2 lining with Thermal Rebound a reflective layer that bounces body heat back at you rather than letting it bleed into the neoprene
• Fluid Taping Method seams liquid-taped rather than stitched through, so there’s no needle hole for water to track along
• V4X outer lining windproof facing that stops the chill on a cold beach walk
• NaturePrene2 Oystershell limestone-free rubber with an FSC-approved supply chain
• Fixed neoprene hood sealed to the suit, so no flush down the neck
• KED kneepad the bit that saves the suit when you’re kneeling on a board or shingle

Who’s it for?

Riders who go out all winter and want the warmest thing on the rack. Prolimit rate it 10/10 for both flex and heat within their own range, which is not a claim they make of anything else.

Sizing

S to XL with Medium Tall and Large Tall for longer torsos and limbs. If you’re between sizes on a winter suit, size down a loose winter suit flushes and a flushing suit is a cold suit.

Rider verdict

A hooded 6/4 is a commitment. If you only sail April to October you don’t need one. If you’re out in February, nothing else will do, and this is the best-specified one Prolimit have made.

Arriving at Northern Watersports for 2027.
