Mid Range Propellers 10%Set of 3If you’re chasing fast swell, trying to keep pace with quick bumps, or pushing your top-end speed, the MH 10% is your prop. It’s 10% wider than the standard prop same length, more blade surface area which translates to stronger mid-range thrust, faster acceleration, and a higher top speed ceiling.Surface motoring feels more controlled and efficient, and you’ll notice better grip on re-entry and takeoff. The trade-off is some low-end thrust, so this prop rewards riders who are already comfortable on the foil and looking to go faster and farther.Ideal for: Swell chasing, downwind riding, light-to-mid weight riders, efoil-proficient riders pushing for speed and efficiency gains.Which Prop Do I Need?Ryan and Hunter from MACkite break down exactly when to use Blue, Grey, or Black Foil Drive props across 10 different riding scenarios.Which prop is right for my scenario?Foil Drive Prop Comparison Chart /* — table/card shared styles — */ .ws-wrap { margin: 8px 0 16px; } .ws-scroll { overflow-x:auto; -webkit-overflow-scrolling:touch; } .ws-table { width:100%; border-collapse:separate; border-spacing:0; min-width:760px; border:1px solid #e5e7eb; border-radius:10px; overflow:hidden; font-size:0.95em; } .ws-table th, .ws-table td { padding:10px 12px; border-bottom:1px solid #eef1f5; } .ws-table thead th { background:#f7f9fc; position:sticky; top:0; z-index:3; } .ws-sticky { position:sticky; left:0; background:#ffffff; z-index:2; border-right:1px solid #eef1f5; } Blue (LR6%)Grey (MHR10%)Black (Standard)Scale6% Width6% Length10% Width0% LengthStandard scaleSpeed RangeLowMid-HighMidEfficiencyBestBetterGoodVentilation CapabilitiesBestBetterGoodDoesn’t Spin UpBestBetterGoodChoppy Water PerformanceBestBetterGoodUpwind MonitoringBestBetterGoodRiderUpwind/Downwind LapsCatching Fast-Moving SwellQuick Take-OffHighlightsLow-End GruntHigh-Speed PowerMid-RangeWhat Foil Drive has to say:More top end speed while also gaining more mid range thrust. The Mid-High Range is 10% larger in width only to increase surface area, not the diameter.Enjoy a boost in top speed and stronger mid-range thrust with the larger blade improving surface motoring and grip. More mid range thrust. What’s IncludedSet of 3 Mid Range PropellersSession ImpressionsRider: Ryan | Conditions: Light wind, small fast swellToday we’re talking about the Foil Drive grey props, the mid-high range 10s the forgotten whatever you want to call them. They don’t have as much traction or as much buzz as the blue props. However, after riding them today, I would say they are extremely undersold. For a lot of people, these are the props you want to be on.They are a little bit harder to get up on because they take a little more time to get spinning. However, with practicing your technique, you’ll get that dialed in pretty quickly in just a short bit. They are mid-high range 10s, which are 10% wider with the same length and same spinning diameter as the original black props. At a higher speed, they give you a little more thrust and a little more power, allowing you to ride at higher speeds. They are super good for when those waves seem to be just escaping you and you can’t quite get on them. Maybe they’re outrunning you due to skill with your foil, or you’re not able to stay up on foil enough, so you have to try and catch back up with the props. Or maybe they’re just that fast that you have to run them down to get on them in the first place. I think there are a lot of applications here for these grey props. I was super impressed with them.I’d say the only technical aspect that takes a little bit of work is the takeoff. Once you have that dialed in, they have tons of thrust and tons of power once you’re up and motoring around. They’re really easy to control and don’t have too much of an issue with ventilating.Today, we had some pretty fast-moving swell. It was small and hard to stay on top of, and there wasn’t a ton of wind. So, I didn’t need that super low end. The mid-high range was really where I needed to be dialed in, and these just crushed it in that application. There was nothing that I saw that I couldn’t get on. They are super forgiving if you
